How amazing was the Nehemiah drama! Though the good examples in Nehemiah’s time didn’t have much materially, their untainted joy came from knowing they were getting Jehovah’s work done and that they had his smile of approval.

This was a really special drama for us because we have the same reasons for joy today. We all have Jehovah’s smile of approval as we give our best to get his work done in whatever ways our circumstances allow us to—as we push to write that last letter or make that last phone call.
